The Self-Repairing Insulator

On February 12, 2015, Mike Guthrie sent an email to ICON with the heading "Great New Discovery - Self-Repairing Insulator." Mike wrote that he couldn't resist sharing a Denver Craigslist posting for an insulator that was in "'mint condition' after guing itself back together while in the ground. Made from 'self repairing glass.'"

The actual Denver Craigslist posting was made on February 3, 2015 (Post ID: 4876021973) and was titled: Brookfield Insulator "Unique" - $200 (Denver). Here is the full description provided as well as the pictures:

Brookfield insulator bee hive, stamped "Brookfield New York" along base and "V" on top. This one is unique and rare made from self repairing glass. I dug this one up myself over 40 years ago. It came out of the hole this way completely fractured out it has self glued itself back together over the years in the hole it is in mint condition with no pieces missing. Great addition for any collector.
I work unusual hours please leave message will contact you back. Thanks for looking.

If you don't understand the humor, it is because you don't understand that the glass probably fractured from being thrown down a hole or being buried yet did not fall apart (yet).
